"Melbourne DJ/Producer Sgt Slick (aka Andy J) has immersed himself in the world of clubs and club music over the last 10 years. In that time he has DJ’d all over the country, run a record label, remixed countless club tunes, fronted a national radio mix show, won ARIA awards, mixed top selling mix CDs, been profiled nationally on TV, and released tunes under no less than 10 aliases! Sony Chan – Be A Star (Tiborg Remix)

Long time has gone since no special post to talk about. I'd like to make this one a little bit different, spice things up. It's about a singer born in Hong-Kong and brought up in Strasbourg, France. We're talking about a pretty girl with many hobbies, including art, interior design and fashion, beside music. What makes it special is her voice, pretty weird, I say. When I first heard "Be A Star", I thought it was a male singer. However, Sony Chan creates good impressions on her live performances, and that's mostly for that cristal-clear voice and her excentric look. Tiborg choosed wisely this track and made a very good remix.

"I grew up in Hong Kong, so I have been very much influenced by Canto-pop. The melody is very important to me, and I definitely love to dance and perform. Some professionals call my style glamourous et electronic. Let it be "GLAM ELECTRO", Sony Chan says. "I have always loved to perform since my childhood, but I used to be first an architect and after a fashion buyer. Two years ago, I met a wonderful friend who had become my producer. Roger always reminds me never to forget that I am unique. I guess we all are in a way"." Article source: Sony Chan on MySpace.

ATB - 9 PM (Till I Come) (Disco Cell Electro Remix)

"It seems hard to believe, but a decade has passed since ATB made waves with his “Movin Melodies“ album. 10 years in which André Tanneberger travelled the globe over and over, mesmerizing his fans all over the world with his unique DJ sets. A decade in which ATB presented eight albums – including the newest ATB LP “Future Memories“, set for May release – to lighten up our days and nights with exquisite electronic music, melodic yet pulsating. As electronic music grows into an increasingly global phenomenon, ATB has been travelling to a dfferent country almost every week. Fans in his home territory could be forgiven for thinking that ATB had gone quiet. In fact, the opposite is the case. André is one of a very select group of musicians in the genre to have succeeded in creating timeless music. Without doubt he belongs to the elite of the global electronic community. One only needs to look at his releases and chart history to realise this – not to mention the fact that his DJ sets are in such great demand among the clubs and fans alike. In spite of his global success, André has kept both feet firmly on the ground and has never lost sight of his fans being the prime focus of his attention.

International travel means less time for his followers in respective countries, but he is always willing to give them something back. With this in mind, he created the ATB “Live In Concert“ experience, a live event which transcends the DJ set framework, a fully-fledged concert presentation featuring live vocals and real instruments. “In contrast to my DJ sets, where I use a lot of material by other artists, ATB In Concert is all about my own songs “ André explains. “This is my way of offering the fans who have stuck with me over the last ten years a dedicated ATB live show from start to finish.“ " Full Article available on ATB's MySpace.

Directed by Paul "Coy" Allen, the video follows a beautiful woman who makes headlines as a burglary suspect."I wanna make something deep," Timbaland previously told MTV about what he wants to shoot for this video. Will she be around if I go through this again?"

Enrique Iglesias - Wish I Was Your Lover (DJ Exceleon Remix)

"Enrique Iglesias (born Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, Spain) is a Miami-based singing sensation and multi-million-album seller. He is the son of famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and Spanish-mestiza Filipina socialite and Hola! magazine journalist Isabel Preysler. He also is the brother of Chabeli Iglesias and Julio José Iglesias, and half-brother of Tamara Falcó and Ana Boyer (from his mother’s side) and Miguel Alejandro, Rodrigo, Cristina, Victoria and Guillermo Iglesias (from his father’s side).

After the widely publicized kidnapping of his grandfather in Spain, Iglesias moved to Miami, Florida in 1983, at age 8. While in Miami, Iglesias enjoyed the luxury of being the son of a billionaire, but he developed a taste for simpler things, a fact that would later surface in his concerts, where he appeared in plain clothes, including white cotton shirts. Iglesias first performed while in high school, in the musical Hello Dolly. While attending the University of Miami, he was auditioned by his future manager, who was impressed. Using the pseudonym Enrique Martínez, the two promoted his demos across various record labels. Months later, Iglesias was signed by Fonovisa and went to Toronto to record his first album in total anonymity. Iglesias has been linked to rumors of romantic relationships with a number of women: former Miss Universe Alicia Machado; the model/actor and Miami resident Sofia Vergara; the pop singer Christina Aguilera; and the actress Jennifer Love Hewitt. More recently, he has reputedly been dating the Russian tennis player, Anna Kournikova for a number of years." Article source: www.last.fm.

Omega - Mr. Vain (Perez Brothers Remix)

Size Matters:  Observations On Loudspeaker Directivity

"Trap boxes and line arrays get all the attention. And that’s no surprise - they’re big and loud, and dare I say it, glamorous. But the truck rarely rolls without a complement of two-way loudspeakers sporting a 12-inch or 15-inch woofer and a horn. Whether its monitor wedges, drum fill, front fill or just “speakers on sticks,” small 2-way boxes do many of the everyday jobs that make up a typical sound reinforcement day. We take the performance of these boxes for granted, but they can be used to better effect if we really understand their directivity characteristics and what makes them perform the way they do. They’re often described as a 90 by 60 box or some other dubious reference.

But 90 degrees by 60 degrees at what frequency? Certainly not from DC to light. There are four principle ingredients that govern the dispersion pattern of these loudspeakers, including the cone driver, horn, crossover and cabinet (...). Technology has gone a long way towards providing a ton of output and fidelity from small packages. But physics hasn’t changed. When it comes to pattern control, size still matters!" David Deejay & Dony - Sexy Thing (Deepside Deejays Remix)

"There are many ways to develop a list of top subwoofers. You can go by type, price points, size, power handling, looks, excursion and so forth. We're starting with a truly scientific approach with only one criterion: badass-ness! Actually it's slightly more serious than that. We wanted to highlight some of the best, brightest, most innovative or extreme or simply unorthodox products in the history of the subwoofer. So we sat around with tech editor Chris Yato and the Dr. Of Doom (aka Gary Bell) to select our 10. Instead of posting different lists we combined everything to form this single list. It's not meant to be comprehensive. From the start we decided that we would run a series on top subwoofers based on different ways of categorizing them, so stay tuned for that. Meanwhile here are the most badass with some also-rans (...)." Full article available at www.caraudiomag.com.

FloRida & Kesha-Right Round (Perez Brothers Remix)

""Right Round" is a dance-pop song performed by American rapper Flo Rida from R.O.O.T.S., his second studio album. It was released to radio as the album's lead single on January 27, 2009 and was digitally released on February 10 by Poe Boy Entertainment and Atlantic Records. The song lyrically speaks of developing a crush on a woman at a strip club, while musically incorporating a sample of the 1984 Dead or Alive song "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" in its hook. According to one of the song's writers, the chorus refers to oral sex. Pop singer Kesha contributed guest vocals to the song, but was only credited internationally.

The song received mostly negative reviews from critics, who claimed it was cheesy and misogynistic. However, it was a commercial success, reaching the top ten of the charts in nineteen countries worldwide. In the United States, it became Flo Rida's second number-one single and broke the record for first-week sales when it was released to digital retailers. The single's accompanying music video was directed by Malcolm Jones and nominated for an MTV Video Music Award." Article source: www.en.wikipedia.org.

La Roux - Bulletproof (Tiborg Remix)

"Mixing his crystal-clear yet powerful voice with his spellbinding sax sounds, Tiborg skillfully distils Pop Music into Electro House. An amazing alchemy of pumpy rythms and electronic sounds highlighting this young DJ, singer and producer. “X-Cape” or “New Generation” are among Tiborg’s first tracks which are noticed and aired on several radio broadcasts like “Club 30” on Europe 2. A few months later, his Astro project signed by EastWest/Warner reaches the 10th place of the Yacast Club rating system. Sharing his time between stage performances and recording studios, in 2008 Tiborg confirms his new born fame. After working on Sony Music artist Alizée’s “Mademoiselle Juliette” and “Fifty-Sixty” remixes, he enters the DJ Buzz Mika Remix Contest and comes out 3rd over hundreds of candidates with his “Big Girl” Remix.

Many Dj's seem to appreciate the Tiborg French Touch and ask for his contribution on their work : among them, Junior Caldera entrusts him his title: “Sleeping Satellite” which was on FG DJ Radio regular playlist for several months. Daniel Lindstrom - Saturday Night (Michael Feiner Remix)

"Swedish born Michael Feiner is the voice behind many big dance floor hits such as “Together” with Axwell & Ingrosso, “Fairplay (Let There Be Love)” with Markus Gardeweg, “In Your Eyes” and “Flash In The Night” with his own band The Attic to mention a few. Well on the way are noticable collaborations with Eddie Thoneick, DBN and also with Swedish fellow Albin Myers. Although his huge passion for melodies, Michael is not only a voice. He’s also a DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist and a songwriter. The recent track “Saturday Night” featuring Daniel Lindström on vocals has been spinning radio channels and dance floors with the original mix and also with a remix by Arno Cost.

It was the 80’s synth era that really caught Michael's attention, not only for the music, but also for the sound abilities of the synthesizer. Artists like Ultravox, Thomas Dolby, Eurythmics, Data, Jean Michel Jarre, Peter Gabriel and the producer Trevor Horn were big inspiration sources. Around that time, from supporting parents, he and his brother got a synthesizer. Michael could finally start his musical career sculpting sounds and making music. His huge interest in studio technology made him constantly checking out the available gear at the time. Developing his ear for production, as a teenager, Michael was often hired by the local pop/rock bands for his production and mixing skills. Since year 2000 Michael is based in Stockholm. Moving there, Michael and his childhood friend Eric Amarillo teamed up together under the name Stereopol. Out of Stereopol evolved Michael and Eric's duo The Attic, this time with Michael as the lead singer. New releases with The Attic are expected in 2010." Article source: M.F. on MySpace.

A year later, Furtado's hard work paid off when she secured four Grammy nominations, which included Song of the Year for 'I'm like a Bird'. Andra - Abelia (Dj Yaang Extended Remix)

"My name is Andra. I was born in Campia Turzii, as well as at the gates of chance, in a music-loving family. My parents keep telling me that, before even being able to talk, I was humming the songs that they used to sing to me at that time. When I walked on the stage for the first time in my life, I looked like a dwarf from a fairytale, muffled in a traditional folk suit. The very first clapping made me feel taller, braver, bolder… I was simply a… grown woman, all of a sudden!

The spotlights, the microphones, the monitors, all that stuff made me dizzy, I definitely wasn’t going to confront again so many thrills. Once upon a time, a Chinese philosopher said: “A thousand-mile journey begins with a single step”. He was absolutely right. Then my first recordings were released, along with my first videos, and I had the first concerts, of course. I gradually got so many friends, I miraculously got used to the spotlights, and I learned to focus only on what really mattered: I had to sing in such a manner, so as the audience and my music would reach the same vibration. I had to find songs in which every human being might have discovered something belonging to their own soul. I never pay more attention to my clothes than to my music, I’m not that kind of singer. Every time I start singing, I only care about those power fluids that occur between me and the bystanders. As a matter of fact, I’ve never been arrogant and I’ve never been a hoary. I hate talking without actually saying something smart, something powerful. I never argue and I’m definitely not interested in scandals and gossip. I’m neither envious, nor haunted by pride. I love people from the bottom of my heart. I adore people who call me Andra. Andra Maruta." Article source: www.andramusic.ro.

David May - Superstar (Phonatic Tribal Extended Remix US)

"Hidden from public exposure, the name David May might put question marks on the faces of those who do not know. Mainly working behind the scenes, multi-instrumentalist David built a long list of achievements as a writer, composer and producer. As a graduate in classical music and sound engineering, he is responsible for many hit productions and a part of internationally successful projects, which people from all different genres should be aware of.

David's debut Solo single, which he produced in co-operation with SVEN GREINER has the meaningful title "Superstar". The idea of this track came from a string sequence originally recorded for an orchestral version of the Rolling Stones' classic "The Last Time". 90's Indie band "The Verve" had a massive hit taking the string sample using it for their own single "Bitter Sweet Symphony". Dave and Sven have now replayed this world famous melody sequence and created a new track of its own merit, featuring ear catching vocals from MOISES MODESTO and DUANE HARDEN and squeezing them into a driving electro beat. Their new interpretation was given a full clearance from Rolling Stones' publisher ABKCO, who approved this title for release through DJ SHOGs "7th Sense Records" label. "Superstar" has a huge potential, ensuring it is bound to crossover in tomorrow's market and will instantly introduce David May not only as a producer, but also as a much wanted House and Electro DJ worldwide." Booty Luv - Boogie 2nite (Seamus Haji Big Love Club Mix)

"Booty Luv was created during early recordings of Big Brovaz' Re-Entry album when music executives offered Cherise and Nadia the chance to record and promote a new version of R&B/soul singer Tweet's club hit "Boogie 2nite". Following the poor sales of early singles from Re-Entry in mid-2006, the girls accepted the offer and began recording their new version of the song, initially only as a promotional track for the record label Hed Kandi. Six months later in December, however, Booty Luv's version of "Boogie 2nite" was decided to be released as an actual single in the UK and mainland Europe following positive reviews from club DJs on the dance scene.

Their debut album Boogie 2nite was released 17 September 2007, one week after third single Don't Mess With My Man (a cover of a Lucy Pearl song) made the UK Top 20 at #11, and the UK Dance Charts at #1, taking their amount of number one UK Dance singles to three. The album features the three hit singles "Boogie 2nite", "Shine" and "Don't Mess with My Man", a new cover as well as five original songs, including the latest UK Top 20 hit Some Kinda Rush. The album is co-written by Booty Luv and two co-writers. On 24 September 2007, Boogie 2nite entered the UK Albums Chart at a respectable #11 and just missed the top twenty the next week, falling to #26." Article source: www.booty-luv.com.
