Sunlounger – White Sand (High Noon At Salinas Remix)

Sunlounger is without doubt Roger Shah’s best known stage name. It was under this handle that he released the `Another Day on The Terrace` long−player in 2008. It reached No.1 on Dutch iTunes` `all−music−genres` chart and spawned four singles: `In & Out`, `Aguas Blancas`, `Crawling` & `White Sand`. The project become so celebrated that Roger expanded Sunlounger into a live act − a performance of which was featured on Armada`s ArminOnly DVD. It was this experience that he credited with his latter wholesale move into live Roger Shah performances. In 2009 Roger released the Sunlounger follow−up `Sunny Tales`. Its progeny singles included `Catwalk`, `Mediterranean Flower`, `Change Your Mind` and the much−revered `Lost` − a track that took the illustrious Single of the 2008 title on the A State of Trance radio show.

On stage, clad in his trademark white, he is impossible to miss or mistake. Wireless keyboard in one hand, an ever−ready clutch of his own productions in the other, his live crowd−interactive performances have brought a new apex experience for club and festival goers worldwide. In 2009 this unequalled approach was reflected in DJ Magazine`s Top 100 chart, where he moved up from his `08 debut position of no.58 to no.21. As a music producer he`s scaled the heights of national charts and with 5 artist albums & compilations released in the last 2 years alone, he is very possibly the most prolific trance musician working today.

Suzanne Vega - Tom's Dinner (Bingo Players Bootleg Mix)

"Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been labeled contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs.  Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has given sold-out concerts in many of the world’s best-known halls. In performances devoid of outward drama that nevertheless convey deep emotion, Vega sings in a distinctive, clear vibrato-less voice that has been described as “a cool, dry sandpaper- brushed near-whisper” and as “plaintive but disarmingly powerful.”
Bearing the stamp of a masterful storyteller who “observed the world with a clinically poetic eye,” Suzanne’s songs have always tended to focus on city life, ordinary people and real world subjects. Notably succinct and understated, often cerebral but also streetwise, her lyrics invite multiple interpretations.  In short, Suzanne Vega’s work is immediately recognizable, as utterly distinct and thoughtful, and as creative and musical now, as it was when her voice was first heard on the radio over 20 years ago.
Suzanne was born in Santa Monica, CA, but grew up in Spanish Harlem and the Upper West Side of New York City.  She was influenced by her mother, a computer systems analyst and her stepfather, the Puerto Rican writer Egardo Vega Yunque. There was a heady mix of multicultural music playing at home: Motown, bossa nova, jazz and folk. At age 11 she picked up a guitar and as a teenager she started to write songs.
At first, record companies saw little prospect of commercial success.  Suzanne’s demo tape was rejected by every major record company—and twice by the very label that eventually signed her: A&M Records. Her self-titled debut album was finally released in 1985, co-produced by Steve Addabbo and Lenny Kaye, the former guitarist for Patti Smith.  The skeptical executives at A & M were expecting to sell 30,000 LP’s.  1,000,000 records later, it was clear that Suzanne’s voice was resonating around the world.  Marlene on the Wall was a surprise hit in the U.K and Rolling Stone eventually included the record in their “100 Greatest Recordings of the 1980’s.”

1987’s follow up, Solitude Standing, again co-produced by Addabbo and Kaye, elevated her to star status. The album hit #2 in the UK and #11 in the States, was nominated for three Grammys including Record of the Year and went platinum. “Luka” is a song that has entered the cultural vernacular; certainly the only hit song ever written from the perspective of an abused boy.
The opening song on Solitude Standing was a strange little a cappella piece, “Tom’s Diner” about a non-descript restaurant near Columbia University uptown. Without Suzanne’s permission, it was remixed by U.K. electronic dance duo “DNA” and bootlegged as “Oh Susanne.” Suddenly her voice on this obscure tune was showing up in the most unlikely setting of all: the club. Suzanne permitted an official release of the remix of “Tom’s Diner” under its original title which reached #5 on the Billboard pop chart and went gold. In 1991 a compilation, Tom’s Album, brought together the remix and other unsolicited versions of the song. Meanwhile, Karlheinz Brandenburg, the German computer programmer was busy developing the technology that would come to be known as the MP3. He found that Vega’s voice was the perfect template with which to test the purity of the audio compression that he was aiming to perfect. Thus Suzanne earned the nickname “The Mother of the MP3.”
Suzanne Vega is an artist that continues to surprise.  In 2006, she became the first major recording artist to perform live in avatar form within the virtual world Second Life.  She has dedicated much of her time and energy to charitable causes, notably Amnesty International, Casa Alianza, and the Save Darfur Coalition.  Suzanne has a daughter, Ruby, by first husband Mitchell Froom.  Ruby, like Suzanne before her, attends the High School for the Performing Arts.  Suzanne is married to lawyer/poet Paul Mills who proposed to her originally in 1983.  Suzanne accepted his proposal on Christmas Day 2005, twenty two years later.  As fascinating as the New Yorkers she has been inspired by, Suzanne Vega herself is full of stories and surprises: the everyday revelations, the grabbed-on-the-run wisdom, the strange, random, miraculous stuff that make up a singular career – or maybe just another life in the big city.
In 2009 Suzanne was invited by Vaclav Havel to perform in Prague to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.  Joining her on stage were Renee Flemming, Lou Reed and Joan Baez.  In early 2010 she embarked on a 38 city tour of North America in support of her new record, Suzanne Vega, Close Up, Vol 1, Love Songs, released on her own label, Amenuensis Productions.  This is the first of four CD’s that looks back through her extraordinary songbook and re-imagines the work in an intimate, striped down production, grouped as “Love Songs,” People, Places and Things,” “States of Being,” and “Songs of Family.” The tour was highlighted by a performance at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room as part of their American Songbook Series.  Suzanne also conducted a series of residencies and workshops at Universities and Music Schools on this tour, including stops at Harvard, University of California Santa Barbara and Banff in Canada."

September - Until I Die (Dave Ramone Remix)

"Four years after her big breakthrough with the smash hit ”Satellites” September continues to rule the international charts. ”Cry for you” went top 10 in more than 15 countries and kept the #1 position at Billboard Dance Radio Airplay for three weeks. In the UK the single sold 250 000 copies, worldwide close to 1.5 million. Ever since her debut single “La la la (Never give it up)” in 2003, Swedish singer and dancing queen Petra Marklund has worked together with songwriter and producer Jonas van der Burg and the two songwriters Niclas van der Burg and Anoo Bhagavan. Together they have continued to follow-up one hit with another without repeating themselves and without losing their audience. September has become a reliable provider of the catchiest pop and dance tunes you can imagine.
”The four of us have stuck to the formula, which makes it easier for the audience to understand what September is about. We love to work with each other. Of course there are conflicts sometimes, but in the end we are still a team”, she explains.
Today September is one of Sweden’s biggest musical exports. Earlier this year she was nominated for the government’s music export prize together with Björn and Benny (ABBA). The international success means that Petra spends a lot of time in airports, usually far away from home. It is a lifestyle that does not fit everyone, but for her it is the only life she knows – and she loves it. When other artists move to the country to have some rest in-between shows and recordings Petra will spend the following year in London. With all the travelling it is more convenient to live in the UK, but that is not the only reason she is packing her bags.
She says that meeting new audiences and travelling the world has helped her grow as an artist. ”When I started doing shows abroad I was allowed to do my thing full on. Back home in Sweden people would probably be shocked by my live show,” she laughs. Putting on a memorable live show is important to this 24-year-old who loves touring as much as she enjoys singing and dancing. She also designs the clothes she wears on stage and likes to be involved in every step of the process. ”I was meant to do this”, she says. And seeing her touring and conquering Russia, Canada, Australia, Britain and USA we have to believe her.
Already at the age of ten Petra (yes, she was born in September) started planning her career. She took dancing lessons, sang all kinds of music and did all she could to prepare herself for a life on stage. There was never an alternative, never any doubts. She was determined to become a popstar – and a few years later she became one. At the age of 20 she received a Grammy in Sweden for Best Club/Dance-album of 2005 with “In orbit”. The same year platinum selling “Satellites” was the most played song on national radio in Sweden. It also reached #1 in the Spanish charts and was given a prize for Hit of The Year at the ESKA Music Awards in Poland. She even found herself at a higher position than long-time favourite Kylie Minogue  as “Cry for you” landed a spot at the Billboard hot 100.
Now, after all the success she has experienced, the 24-year-old singer no longer needs to prove anything to anyone. She was meant to do this." Article source: www.septembermusic.se.

Klaas - Feel The Love (Klaas Increase Remix)

"Klaas’ fascination of putting on electronic sounds was aroused within the Cologne club scene in the late 90ies: He debuted with several releases and approached ambitiously the art of mixing sounds. Soon after, the open-minded Cologne based DJ moved forward to the energetic electro-sound producing his first electro-vinyl Slip & Slide with Micha Moor for the Cologne label Scream and Shout Recordings, which paved directly the way onto the playlists of reputable DJ celebrities. From then on, there was no way to stop him making a go of his passion. The releases Get Twisted and Confession were placed in the Top 5 of the German Dance Charts. Following remixes for several DJs like Dr. Kucho & Gregor Salto, John Morley, Chrissi D! and Jens Lissat, Klaas prepared the UK Chart-Act The Freelance Hellraiser and, together with another Sony BMG UK-Act, the remix Klaas vs. I’m Finn – I Love You at the end of 2006.
His distinctively energetic style of sound is also convincing for his Swiss followings. Accordingly, no less than DJ Antoine ordered a Klaas remix DJ Antoine – This Time, which is included within a Egoiste release.
Following the worldwide resonance, remix inquiries of pop music celebrities won’t be long in coming. Only a few weeks ago, Klaas mixed the single version of “No Angels – Goodbye To Yesterday” by transforming the popstars-like sound to an electronical house-mix – excellently suitable for clubs.
However the Cologne whiz kid is unstoppable: Despite several remixes amongst others for Eddie Thoneick, Aston Martinez, Michael Mind and Global Deejays he focuses constantly on his own productions: So, the new release Micha Moor – Music is Dope produced by Klaas&MichaMoor came in april. Also for his Scream&Shout co-worker Micha Moor he worked out even a dual-remake of the forthcoming release “Micha Moor – Space” and delivered two as usal massive but independed mixes. The “Klaas Club Mix” became a worldwide success and topped both the Beatport and German Dance Charts at number 1 slot for weeks. Finally in November of 2007 Klaas´ higly anticipated third solo-single “The Way” is released, by which Klaas is setting new standards. With his three solid clubmixes he shows his wide range variety in the electrohouse genre. At once in the first week “The Way” was placed at number 2 slot of the German Dance Charts. Just back from his almost three-week dj-tour through Australia and Newzealand he made in the beginning of 2008 his new reworks of well known classics like „Guru Josh - Infinity“, „Horny United - Crazy Paris“, or “G&G – My My My”. All of these records made the way to the top 10 of the German Dance Charts.
Shortly after this his remix of DJ Disciples - Work it out was released.A logical result of his immensely qualitative output was the nomination at the "Beatport Music Awards 2008” at which Klaas was nominated as one of the 10 worldwide best Electro House Artists.
Addional gigs in Canada and Australia made his fourth release only in May 2008 possible. To “Feel The Love” he contributed again three strong mixes and thus he proved once more his extreme flexibility and versitality as an Electro-House producer." Article source: www.klaas-music.de.

Bob McFerrin - Be Happy (Moving Elements Remix)

"Bobby McFerrin is one of the natural wonders of the music world. A ten-time Grammy Award winner, he is one of the world's best-known vocal innovators and improvisers, a world-renowned classical conductor, the creator of "Don't Worry Be Happy", one of the most popular songs of the late 20th century, and a passionate spokesman for music education. His recordings have sold over 20 million copies, and his collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, Chick Corea, the Vienna Philharmonic, and Herbie Hancock have established him as an ambassador of both the classical and jazz worlds. With a four-octave range and a vast array of vocal techniques, McFerrin is no mere singer; he is music's last true Renaissance man, a vocal explorer who has combined jazz, folk and a multitude of world music influences - choral, a cappella, and classical music - with his own ingredients. As a conductor, Bobby is able to convey his innate musicality in an entirely different context. In addition to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, he has worked frequently with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, where he held the post of Creative Chair.
Unconventional is a good way to describe the career of Bobby McFerrin. Those familiar with McFerrin's shows, whether as a conductor or a vocalist, know that each one is a unique event that resonates with the unexpected. He is that rare artist who has the ability to reach beyond musical genres and stereotypes for a sound that is entirely his own. As one of the foremost guardians of music's rich heritage, he remains at the vanguard with his natural, beautiful and timeless music that transcends all borders and embraces all cultures.
Comprised of twelve uniquely gifted singers with broad stylistic experience ranging from jazz to R&B to Indian classical opera, Voicestra serves as a rich compositional palate for Bobby McFerrin's expeditions into the musical universe. Bobby founded Voicestra in 1986 to explore interactive group singing in his performances, and it has since evolved into a medium for deeply spiritual and powerful improvisations. Voicestra is not just a choir, but a flexible and richly textured instrument through which Bobby can experiment with and express his unique vocal style and musical stream of consciousness. The music is entirely improvised and captures everything in the performance: the day, the time, the theater, the audience. Melodies, rhythms and textures traverse from singer to singer, perpetually morphing in reaction to the moment and Bobby's instincts. For many audiences, a Voicestra performance is akin to a religious experience, providing them the rare opportunity to witness as well as participate in a musical celebration of spontaneity." Sean Kingston - Fire Burning (Jody Den Broeder Remix)

"Much has happened since the now 19-year-old emerged in July 2007. “Beautiful Girls” made history as one of the fastest ascents up the charts ever. Following that, the singer/rapper scored three more top ten hits including “Me Love,” “Take You There” and “There’s Nothin’.” He has sold more than six million digital singles, more than 4.5 million ringtones and has toured with artists like Gwen Stefani and Chris Brown. His self-titled debut Sean Kingston went to #1 in 21 countries and sold over 1 million worldwide. “Take You There” and “Love Like This” climbed the radio and iTunes charts together giving him back-to-back hits in January. With a musical bloodline that includes Jamaican legendary producer Jack Ruby as his grandfather, it’s no wonder Sean, who is finishing up his sophomore album, Tomorrow, for Epic Records, was able to introduce a new genre where rap, reggae, pop, doo-wop and remarkable songwriting all combine into something totally refreshing.
Sean’s sophomore album, Tomorrow, due out on Epic Records in August is a reflection of his growth as a young man and evolution as an artist. The life experiences gained over the past two years have been invaluable to Sean and have greatly influenced him. As he evolves, he remains positive and hopeful of what the future has to bring. The title track on the album reflects this sentiment. There are also messages of personal acceptance as heard in the song “Face Drop” and echoed throughout with songs including “Magical”. The theme of Tomorrow is further evidenced by the expansion of artists and producers Sean collaborated with on the album. While he continues to work with J.R. Rotem, Sean also teams up with pop-punk veterans Good Charlotte co-writing “Shoulda Let You Go”, world-wide superstar Wyclef Jean who produced and lends vocals to “Ice Cream Girl” and chart-topping producer Red One on the first single off the album “Fire Burning.”" Article source: www.seankingston.com.

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (Romantic Mix)

"When Lady Gaga was a little girl, she would sing along on her mini plastic tape recorder to Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper hits and get twirled in the air in daddy’s arms to the sounds of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. The precocious child would dance around the table at fancy Upper West Side restaurants using the breadsticks as a baton. And, she would innocently greet a new babysitter in nothing but her birthday suit. It’s no wonder that little girl from a good Italian New York family, turned into the exhibitionist, multi-talented singer-songwriter with a flair for theatrics that she is today: Lady Gaga. “I was always an entertainer. I was a ham as a little girl and I’m a ham today,” says Lady Gaga, 23, who made a name for herself on the Lower East Side club scene with the infectious dance-pop party song “Beautiful Dirty Rich,” and wild, theatrical, and often tongue-in-cheek “shock art” performances where Gaga – who designs and makes many of her stage outfits -- would strip down to her hand-crafted hot pants and bikini top, light cans of hairspray on fire, and strike a pose as a disco ball lowered from the ceiling to the orchestral sounds of A Clockwork Orange.

“I always loved rock and pop and theater. When I discovered Queen and David Bowie is when it really came together for me and I realized I could do all three,” says Gaga, who nicked her name from Queen’s song “Radio Gaga” and who cites rock star girlfriends, Peggy Bundy, and Donatella Versace as her fashion icons. “I look at those artists as icons in art. It’s not just about the music. It’s about the performance, the attitude, the look; it’s everything. And, that is where I live as an artist and that is what I want to accomplish.” That goal might seem lofty, but consider the artist: Gaga is the girl who at age 4 learned piano by ear. By age 13, she had written her first piano ballad. At 14, she played open mike nights at clubs such as New York’s the Bitter End by night and was teased for her quirky, eccentric style by her Convent of the Sacred Heart School (the Manhattan private school Nicky and Paris Hilton attended) classmates by day. At age 17, she became was one of 20 kids in the world to get early admission to Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Signed by her 20th birthday and writing songs for other artists (such as the Pussycat Dolls, and has been asked to write for a series of Interscope artists) before her debut album was even released, Lady Gaga has earned the right to reach for the sky.
“My goal as an artist is to funnel a pop record to a world in a very interesting way,” says Gaga, who wrote all of her lyrics, all of her melodies, and played most of the synth work on her album, The Fame (Streamline/KonLive/Cherrytree/Interscope). “I almost want to trick people into hanging with something that is really cool with a pop song. It’s almost like the spoonful of sugar and I’m the medicine.” Full article available at www.ladygaga.com.
