Kirsty Hawkshaw - Reasons To Forgive (Blizzard Remix)

""Kirsty Hawkshaw has well over 50 collaborations to her name. It's possible that the actual number is twice that. Her voice is unmistakable to anyone who has obsessed over even two songs she's worked on. Outside of vocals, she has created an ambient release called "The Ice Castle" and created a now legendary persona on the virtual environment Second Life. " - Lamat Kan.
Kirsty Hawkshaw is a female Dance/Electronica/House/Ambient/Drum and Bass/ Artist, photographer and songwriter who is known for her signature atmospheric vocals.
Hawkshaw was born in London, England in March 1969 and is the daughter of British Disco producer Alan Hawkshaw (of Love De-Luxe with Hawkshaw’s Discophonia fame; they had a #1 disco hit on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1979 with “Here Comes That Sound Again”. He later went on to compose the famous theme music for the British television game show Countdown, and also wrote the original Grange Hill theme tune Chicken Man). It was through her father and her German Grandmother who was an Opera singer and stage performer and her love for dance music that would inspire Kirsty to pursue a career in music.
Kirsty started recording sounds and her own vocal recordings at the age of 3 years old after her Father gave her a tape recorder.
Kirsty is also venturing into the sublime world of liquid Drum and Bass and in 2010 plans to release some collaborative releases with the only Ambient Drum and Bass producer currently in existence 'Paradox' aka Alaska on stunning White Vinyl. She also had a release in Feb 2010 with Sweden's Seba with 'The Joy', and Devotions, and they are currently working on a follow up single to 'The Joy'. But while her voice continues to soar in many dance hits around the world, Kirsty has been creating a different kind of music in her home studio. Her style is ambient electronica with no or minimalist vocals, that is serene, innocent and sublime.
The ambient side of Kirsty started with "Pulusha," a collaboration with Global Communication's Mark Pritchard in the 1990's. Her extraordinary talent has evolved further over the years, enhanced by live performances, recording sessions, and solo studio excursions.
2010 will no doubt be an exciting year, she has a track on BT's new album 'Million Stars' on 'These Hopeful Machines and she will also be touring with Chapterhouse and Ulrich Schnauss in Japan and the States,. Kirsty and Ulrich plan to release their album sometime in the late Autumn. The album has been 3 years in the making and they have not in a rush to finish the album and have been working on it independently and off their own backs." Article source: www.kirstyhawkshaw.co.uk

Lily Allen - F*ck You (Ralphi Rosario Remix)

"Lily Allen has been called all these things, and much, much more - sometimes with justification, often without. She's posh, she's common, she's sexy, she's demure, she's reticent, she's outspoken, she's sensitive, she's shameless, she's loved-up, she's distraught, often all in the same evening. Then she goes to bed, gets up and has breakfast. Then she posts her breakfast on the Internet. Then other people analyse her breakfast. And wonder why she posted it on the Internet. Contrary, contradictory, occasionally catty, always compelling, Allen, at 23, is Britain's most consistently engaged and engaging pop star, as well as one of our most successful. She first commandeered the public stage in July 2006, a fully formed phenomenon with a song that would help define that summer, the hugely infectious "Smile", her first CD single and her first UK number one. "Smile" served as an excellent primer for the Allen oeuvre, a breezy, lilting, ska-inflected slice of perfect pop distinguished by sugar-sweet vocals and unflinchingly autobiographical lyrics. It was a song of female empowerment sung by a smart-mouthed, wide-eyed, pretty post-teen in a pink prom dress and box-fresh Nike trainers, fluoro make-up and huge hoop earrings. "LDN" was, if anything, even more insidious and distinctive: a faux-naive, text-spelt, profane paean to the city of her birth in all its grimy glory. By the time of the release of "Alright, Still", her debut album, Allen's stardom was solidified and her public persona cemented: cheeky, waspish, searingly honest, sparky, spiky and satirical. Some of the stories about her were even true.
Lily Allen was born in May 1985 in Hammersmith, west London, the daughter of film producer Alison Owen and actor Keith Allen. It was an unconventional childhood, but not one without its compensations, and it made Allen wise beyond her years and tremendously motivated to carve her own place in the world. Raised alongside her sister and brother in Bloomsbury, Shepherd's Bush, Primrose Hill and Islington, she attended 13 different schools in total before abandoning her formal education at 15 and embarking on a teenage odyssey of innocence and experience: clubbing in Ibiza, studying to be a florist, always hoping to break into the entertainment industry. She knocked on record company doors from the age of 16, and her first deal came in 2002, with Warners, who pushed her in an uncomfortably folky direction. It was two years later, working with producers Future Cut, when Allen began to find her feet as a songwriter. In 2005 she signed to Regal, an imprint of Parlophone, and, frustrated by the slow pace of the music industry, began to post demos on her MySpace page. Meanwhile, a series of live appearances at the Notting Hill nightclub Yo-Yo in the spring of 2006 whetted press and public appetites.
"I find it hard to write songs about nothing," says Allen. "I try to write things that are both relevant to my life - which is totally weird and surreal - and also universal. I think the record probably is a bit darker but not because I have a darker outlook on life. I actually feel happier right now than I did when I released "Alright, Still". When I was writing the first record I felt like I was really struggling. I wanted to be doing something and I felt no one was interested. Now I feel like people are very interested." Lykke has become increasingly popular with indie music fans and took her particular flavor of music more mainstream with an appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly on February 18, 2009. She has received a great deal of notoriety for her cover of "Knocked Up", originally recorded by Kings of Leon who had approached Lykke to cover a song of her choice, and "Gifted" in which she performs with Kanye West. Going further mainstream, Lykke performed at the 2009 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 19, as well as the 2009 Lollapalooza Music Festival on August 8 as part of the promotional tour for the album Youth Novels. A remixed version of her song "I'm Good, I'm Gone" was featured in the film Sorority Row (2009). The song "Possibility" was written for the film New Moon (2009). Lykke had been asked to write a song to the film soundtrack but she was reluctant to commit to the project. It was after she had seen an early screening of the movie that she decided she wanted to contribute to the soundtrack. The soundtrack was released on 16 October 2009.
According to her Myspace Blog, she has started writing material for her second album but insists it will be a long wait until it is finished." Article source: www.en.wikipedia.org.

Gigi D'Agostino - Bla Bla Bla (DJ G. Ros Remix)

"Gigi D'Agostino has had a troubled past. Lots of jobs, lots of suffering to reach today's fame and fortune. He says he would do it all over again if he was really forced. Anyway his life has really changed, all his desires are realised now. Gigi loves progressive music, even if he twisted it rather than customized it. Mediterranean progressive was born in this way: minimal sounds, catchy melodies, lots of latin and...mediterranean sounds. Gigi has attacked Italy with hits such as Giallone rmx, Fly, Elektro Message, Angel Symphony (with R.A.F. by Picotto), Gigi's Violin and New Year's Day and, through last compilations, he affirmed himself with Musica and Psicadelica. He thinks that his inspiration probably comes from his Salerno's origins. At the question if he prefers being a Dj or a producer, answers that he would be at a real cross road. "'Cause one thing drives to the other". As producer, but expecially as artist, so out of underground paths, he recives many satisfaction. His single Bla Bla Bla entered in the charts straight to number 4, it sold 10.000 copies in just four days; and it's a record for a single. In the USA, Tommy Boy has published Your love ( in Italy Elisir), while the Jellybean Recording has just published Cuba Libre ,which has been a big success in Italy in 1998.
The last 15 July his compilation Euro Dance won the Platinum disc with its 120.000 sold copies in few weeks. In this compilation there are 5 tracks signed by Gigi himself. And his new album has justn been released. . L'Amour Toujours is the new album in double cd, published by Media Records; it is divided in two different parts: the first cd is for heart, it contains tracks for singing ; the second is for legs ,and it's all for dancing. The rhythm, the word, the body, the evolution and our tribal part. Another way opens the first Cd, followed by the track which gives the title to the LP, L'Amour Toujours . The second Cd is rapresented by the grooves, the percussions, with tracks like La Danse, Movimento, Coca e Avana and Bla Bla Bla ( Dark Mix version). It's a complete work, which can satisfy all the fans." An album for your body and your mind, or better for your heart." Article source: www.artists.letssingit.com.

Chicane & Natasha Bedingfield - Bruised Water (Michael Woods Dub Mix)

"Genius can be measured in a number of ways: ability, originality and accomplishment. In Michael’s short career he has managed to touch on every cornerstone, leaving proof of his musical competence at producing big room, progressive and tech-house tracks, along with a discernible motivation to better the quality of music being distributed. This has not gone unnoticed, with DJs like Pete Tong jumping at the chance to document Michael's rise, featuring him on shows such as Radio 1’s 15 minutes of Fame. From Argentinean & Guyanese decent, he was born and raised in Hackney London which he still calls home running his studio from there. Classically trained in a range of instruments at an early age provided Michael with a catalogue of creative skills including the keys—which he learned to play at the tender age of 3—guitar, drums and trumpet, practically making him a one man band. When not in the studio messing around with Cubase developing his craft, he would be found at Pimlico’s Trinity Music College where he contracted a love for musicality, often using his spare time orchestrating with the percussion section of the London Symphony Orchestra. Earlier achievements include the Michael Woods Remix of Energy 52’s Café Del Mar which held pride of place on the acclaimed Chilled Ibiza Gold Album and is a prime example of the ever growing popularity of the Woods marque. It has never ceased to be continually played and is still considered a classic among DJs and fans alike.
Collaboration’s with the likes of Chris Lake on Domino’s are proof of his skillful production abilities. These, however, are not the sole examples of his talent; many established artists have hired Mr Woods to renovate their sound into a style which emulates Michael’s musical vision. His remixes include Feels Like A Prayer on Toolroom Records, Deadmau5’s Strobe on mau5trap, Deadmau5 & Chris Lake with I Said as well as the more mainstream artists: Adele, Nate James, Xenomania signing Gabriella Cilmi, The Temper Trap, Way Out West and more recently, Estelle (I Can Be A Freak). Each have turned to Michael to help send shock waves through the music world with their sound, upping his status as a respected artist, track-after-track. His ability to rework music with an exceptionally sharp ear for quality production has left him in high regard with many artists and labels across the industry, with direct Tweets from the likes of Tiesto hailing his skill as one of the many examples. Diffused Music has become his major priority since he founded the label in September 2008. Using it as a platform from which to promulgate his perfected sound, the label has released numerous acclaimed records: Yemba, Dropzone and the Envolver EP. As Michael’s career continues to escalate he has lined up countless events to build on his current success, touring with Deadmau5, setting a number of UK based gigs and also earning a coveted residency spot at one of the most sought after places in the clubbing realm, Cream’s Amnesia in Ibiza. Along with Mark Knights Toolroom Knights events and Pete Tongs Wonderland, the Woods fan base and clientele continues to sky rocket. It is apparent that this is not the height of his creativity, but rather a preview into what assuredly will be an illustrious career. Article source: Michael Woods on MySpace.

Snoop Dogg - Sensual Seduction (Unreleased Electro Remix)

"The offices at the top of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood are home to some of Southern California’s most awe-inspiring views. Through the circular glass that adorns the iconic edifice, you can see the plush landscapes of some of the world’s most lavish neighborhoods. But look a little farther and you can just as effortlessly peer into the working class streets that birthed gangsta rap. It’s this dichotomous picture that provides a fitting backdrop for Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus and his new label home high atop the cylindrical landmark. As the Creative Chairman of EMI’s newly reintroduced Priority Records, Snoop will oversee a hefty catalog chock full of gangsta rap anthems (NWA, Eazy E, Master P, Ice Cube) that launched from the streets and infiltrated even the highest suites. The view also bodes well for Snoop’s first order of business in his new post: his upcoming Malice N Wonderland. After all, it’s these two very different worlds that the Doggfather pulls inspiration from for his tenth solo outing. This intersection of “malice” and “wonder” combines for an exciting listen. “When I started to put together this record I had a lot of malice in my heart—just focusing on making hardcore gangsta music.” explains Snoop. But what’s become quite obvious to his adoring global fan base is that while Snoop stays steeped in the hood realities of his native Eastside Long Beach, he’s continued to evolve. And after delving further into this opus, Snoop knew that he also wanted to make songs that embodied more than just his gangsta. “My mood lightened and I wanted to make some music that just felt good…to me and to the ladies.”
It’s his natural appeal to both the hood and to Hollywood that has allowed Snoop Dogg to stay tremendously relevant through ten releases and numerous side projects. Since bursting into our collective consciousness alongside famed producer Dr. Dre on the 1992 classic The Chronic, Snoop has remained a constant force in Hip-Hop and a household name around the world.Because of this, Snoop entered into a first-of-its kind global deal with MTV that will bring his personality to television and his music to fans. The MTV deal will aid in providing marketing and promotion for Malice N Wonderland. In addition, songs from Snoop’s impressive catalogue of hits will be released on MTV’s hot-selling Rock Band music video game platform. As Creative Chairman of Priority, the label that helped established West Coast Rap, Snoop will help re-launch Priority and drive efforts to maximize untapped digital and branding opportunities. He will also serve as Executive Producer for a series of Priority releases commemorating the label's 25th anniversary in 2010. From music to movies, Twitter posts to TV shows (E!’s reality series Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood and MTV’s Dogg After Dark), Snoop Dogg remains not just at the forefront of the rap game but also at the apex of popular culture. And it’s his tales about his view from the top that ensure Malice N Wonderland will be yet another classic to add to the Chairman’s ever-growing portfolio."
