A new name is about to be added to that illustrious list, as a joint venture between Universal Records in the UK and Motown in the US presents Taio Cruz. "Owl City is the electronic brainchild of Adam Young, who launched the project in 2007 while living at his parents' home in Owatonna, MN. Troubled by insomnia, Young began spending his evenings in the household basement, where a computer and several instruments provided a welcome diversion from his sleeping patterns. He eventually combined those diversions into a blend of electronica and emo-pop, using little more than his computer and various keyboards to record the material. Songs were uploaded to /MySpace upon completion, and Young began attracting a surprising amount of attention on the networking site. Transcore Project - Mohicans (Classic Electro Mix)

"The Last of the Mohicans is a 1992 historical epic film set in 1757 during the French and Indian War. It was directed by Michael Mann and based on James Fenimore Cooper's classic novel, although it owes more to George B. Seitz's 1936 film adaptation than the source novel. The main cast includes Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, Russell Means, Wes Studi, Eric Schweig, Steven Waddington and Jodhi May. The soundtrack features music by Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman, and the song "I Will Find You" by Clannad. The film won an Academy Award for Sound. The main theme of the movie is taken from the tune "The Gael" by Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean.

The Last of the Mohicans opened to wide acclaim, with critics praising the film for its cinematography and music. "2 Brothers On The 4th Floor are the Dutch brothers Martin and Bobby Boer. For years, Martin and Bobby Boer had been experimenting with music in a little bedroom. But then in 1990 things really started to happen for them, the single Can’t Help Myself was picked up by Dutch radiostations and became an international hit. After two singles the project was put on a halt. Martin moved into a new professional studio and started making remixes under the name Dancability Productions. He made remixes for acts like Becky Bell and Twenty 4Seven. In the meanwhile Bobby was busy designing record-covers and CD-inlays.

 

In 1994 they decided to revive the 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor-project. Bobby joined Martin in his studio and after a while the two presented Never Alone. This single was the first to be launched with rapper D-Rock (real name is Renee Philips) and singer Des’Ray (real name is Desirée Claudette Manders). The song “Dreams”, the title cut from their first album, was a major hit nationally and internationally inasmuch as it epitomized the essence of Euro-dance, which was popular when the song released in 1994.
