"The Adventures Of Stevie V is a dance music act from Bedfordshire, England who scored several hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the early 1990s. Assembled by producer Stevie Vincent, the group also includes singers Melody Washington and Mick Walsh. Their most successful single was "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)," a #1 dance chart hit that crossed over to pop radio and hit #25 on the Hot 100 in 1990, as well as hitting #2 on the UK Singles Chart. A follow-up single, "Jealousy," hit #2 on the dance chart in early 1991 and climbed to #95 on the Hot 100. Stevie Vincent currently teaches music tech at Bedford college. After the demise of The Adventures of Stevie V, Mick Walsh co-writer of Dirty Cash, went on to have another US dance number 1 (Billboard dance and radio charts) with "Set Me Free" performed by Clubland. He now lives in New York. A remix of dirty cash is set to be released in late 2009, mixed by Funk K called "Dirty Cash 2009". Dirty Cash was covered by Liberty X and features on their 2005 album X."Dirtee Cash" a song recorded by British grime artist Dizzee Rascal, based on the original song "Dirty Cash" by Vincent/Walsh was released as the fourth single from Dizee Rascal's fourth studio album Tongue N' Cheek. It was released digitally on 21 September 2009, and follows his number-one hits "Holiday" and "Bonkers". It is his first solo song from the album and has to date reached number 10 in the UK.
The Dizzee Rascal versions samples the chorus and verse from the original "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)" Rascal told The Sun Newspaper (UK) that this song, "is about how if you ain't got money, but you still spend it anyway, life is gonna bite you in the arse."The song entered the UK Singles Chart at number 11 on the 27 September 2009 via downloads alone, and peaked at number 10. The single was released physically on 23 November 2009, however, it made no further impact on the charts and placed at #38 that week. This is the first single from the Tongue 'N Cheek album not to go to #1.At the 2010 BRIT Awards, Florence Welch, from Florence and The Machine was joined by Dizzee Rascal to perform a mash-up of her version of "You've Got The Love" and his "Dirtee Cash"; she was awarded a BRIT for having made the best and most successful British album of the year, Lungs. The mash-up, entitled "You Got the Dirtee Love", was released on 17 February 2010, one day after the BRITs performance. The first time in British pop history that a song featured live on The Brits was made available for immediate download."You've Got The Dirtee Love" went straight to number 1 on the iTunes download chart and is expected to cross over into the UK charts. Although "You've Got The Dirtee Love" contains none of the original "Dirty Cash", due to sampling and copy write laws, it will undoubtedly give Stephen Vincent and Mick Walsh their 3rd official UK top ten hit as co-writers."
