Eduard Marian Ilie (29 June 1986, Bucharest, Romania), also known as Edward Maya, is a producer, performer, composer and musician from Romania. He graduated from George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest and is currently a final year student at the Bucharest Conservatory. At 19 years of age he composed a song with Eduard Carcota for the Eurovision Song Contest, which went to fourth place in the competition (Mihai Traistariu - Tornero). This breakthrough was followed by a busy period for the artist, who worked on different contracts with Romanian artists abroad (Akcent, Costi Ioniţă, Vika Jigulina, Cassa Loco, Studio One, DjRynno, Dj Sava, Marius Nedelcu, Blaxy Girls, Imba). In 2008 he produced the album that helped relaunch the band Akcent, appearing on the international music market with hits like "Stay with Me", "That's my Name" and "Lover's Cry", all under the Edward Maya brand. In the summer of 2009, Maya launched is first song as an artist, "Stereo Love", topping number 1 in the Romanian singles charts. Latter that year, "Stereo Love", became a hit in clubbing places all over the world. This success was followed by concerts worldwide, with the song reaching the pop charts Greece, Albania, Lebanon, Jordan, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Russia, Poland, the Netherlands, Egypt, Belgium, Spain, Italy,Turkey, Cyprus, France etc.
